چکیده

The powering issue of a high-speed marine vehicle with multihulls and air-cushion support is addressed, since there is an often need to quickly evaluate the effects of several configuration parameters in the early stage of the design. For component hulls with given geometry, the parameters considered include the relative locations of individual hulls and the relative volumetric ratios. Within the realm of linearized theory, an interferenceresistance expression for hull-to-hull interaction is first reviewed, and then a new formula for hull-and-pressure distribution interference is derived. Each of these analytical expressions is expressed in terms of the Fourier signatures or Kochin functions of the interacting component hulls, with the separation, stagger, and speed as explicit parameters. Based on this framework, an example is given for assessing the powering performance of a catamaran (dihull) as opposed to a tetrahull system. Also examined is the wave resistance of a surface-effect ship of varying cushion support in comparison with that of a base line catamaran, subject to the constraint of constant total displacement. Control System Design for a Surface Effect Ship by Linear-Quadratic Regulator Method

In this paper, the main goal is to reduce the heave motion between a surface effect ship (SES) and a wind turbine in order to safely transfer equipment and person to SES. For this purpose, an LQR control system is designed to damp the vertical motion of the surface effect ship in critical sea states including high-frequency and high amplitude regular waves as well as high frequency irregular wa...

Optimum Shape Design of a Radiant Oven by the Conjugate Gradient Method and a Grid Regularization Approach

This study presents an optimization problem for shape design of a 2-D radiant enclosure with transparent medium and gray-diffuse surfaces. The aim of the design problem is to find the optimum geometry of a radiant enclosure from the knowledge of temperature and heat flux over some parts of boundary surface, namely the design surface. The solution of radiative heat transfer is based on the net r...

Design of optimal central guidance of an underwater vehicle in the modeled ship wake

The purpose of this paper is to provide a new algorithm for guidance of an underwater vehicle to reach its target, and demonstrate its effectiveness by simulation with a computer code. The meant of target in here is to chase a ship on the surface of the water. In order to do this, one of the most effective methods is to follow the ship wake which produced behind it. Disadvantages of wake guidan...
